Pork Leg in Pineapple Sauce

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce

  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar

  • 2 tbsp honey (or maple syrup)

  • 2 tsp fresh ginger, grated

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Olive oil

👩‍🍳 How to make pork leg in pineapple sauce step by step

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

  2. Heat olive oil in a large pan. Season the pork leg with salt and pepper, then sear it on all sides (about 5 minutes per side). This locks in the juices.

  3. In a blender, combine the pineapple juice, onion, garlic, bell pepper, chicken broth, soy sauce, vinegar, honey, and ginger. Blend until smooth.

  4. Place the seared pork leg in a baking dish. Pour the pineapple sauce over it and arrange the pineapple slices around.

  5. Cover with foil and bake for about 3 hours, turning the pork occasionally and basting it with the sauce to keep it juicy.

  6. Once tender, remove from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.

  7. Serve hot with the sauce and pineapple slices. Pair with rice or mashed potatoes for the perfect finish.
